Having the right equipment on hand can be instrumental to a smooth flat tire replacement. First of all, ensure that your Kia Sportage, K5, or Seltos has a functional spare tire. It should be inflated to the proper air pressure and should be unused until you need it. Next, a car jack is vital, as this will let you lift the vehicle up to access its tires. You will require a torque wrench, also known as a lug wrench, to loosen and tighten the bolts that secure the wheel to the car. We also suggest that you stash an air pressure gauge or compressor in your trunk in the event that you need to fill up one or more tires. Before it is fully off the ground, begin loosening the lug nuts on the wheel using your torque wrench. After they are slightly loose, but not fully removed, finish lifting the car off the ground so that the wheel is about an inch from the pavement. What’s Next?
Once you have removed the damaged tire, it’s time to install the spare. This component can be placed on the bolts where the old one was. Place the lug nuts on the bolts and begin to tighten them by hand. Next, start lowering the car to the ground, at which point you can finish securing the lug nuts. Be sure to do so in a star-shaped pattern, as this will ensure that it doesn’t get mounted unevenly. Spare tires only last about 50 miles, so don’t take many trips to Lions Park before dropping by our nearby location.
